Overwatch Overview: The world needs heroes!
By now, Blizzard fans have been diving into the Overwatch beta and while there are many improvements that need to be made, the general consensus among fans is that it not only looks great, but plays well too. If you haven’t heard much about the game yet that’s okay, read on and we will fill you in on everything you need to know about Blizzard’s latest game.
“The world needs heroes” and that’s exactly where Overwatch starts, emphasizing cooperative gameplay among the cast of heroes that players can choose from. Set to debut officially in spring 2016, Blizzard fans got their first look of the game back in 2014 at their annual BlizzCon event and when it releases, it will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
The gaming mechanics are most similar to Team Fortress with its squad-based combat. Each team is comprised of six players and each person on the squad can choose from a selection of characters that all have different abilities and role classes. Players have the ability to switch out their character following a death and try someone else out; fantastic for those who get bored of characters easily or like to switch between characters of high and low attack.
